Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Africa make a difference - ImageMentoring programme for kids 

Big Brothers Big Sisters South Africa (BBBSSA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping children and youth at risk, between the ages of 6 and 18 years old.

A mentoring programme, it matches youth in need, with carefully selected and trained adult volunteers. BBBSSA operates in Cape Town, Gauteng, Pretoria and KwaZulu Natal.

  • School’s Programme
  • Children’s Home Programme
  • Diversion Programme for youth in conflict with the law
  • A programme in support of those affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDS.

Helping children once a week 

The trained adult volunteers commit to at least one hour a week, in order to spend time with the child.

Activities range from offering support, playing games, talking about friends, going for ice-cream and helping with homework.
